What is the best boiler? 

Difficult question to answer as it often means determining your needs. If you plan on moving in the near future installing the best boiler on the market may be a false economy.  That said there is no substitute for quality.

If you scan various sites on the internet you will basically get 3 answers. Viessmann, Vaillant and Worcester Bosch. Personally I fitted a Viessmann in my current home and a Worcester  in my previous home. I love them both but the Viessmann just has a greater feel of quality about it. So to be truly honest either will serve you well.

I have just fitted a Viessmann for my daughter in Manchester. 

Vaillant are a popular choice especially here on the Isle of Wight Why? We don't know but it does mean we attend more Vaillant breakdowns than any other boiler. Diverter valves leaking is a common problem. Not a cheap fix. Older Vaillant's are definitely better than the newer models.

However Glowworm are a good option and as they are made in the same factory as Vaillant (same company) you might as well have the Glowworm.

Then there is Ideal. Good honest British boiler. I fitted one for my brother over 15 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat. Often overlooked the Ideal range is excellent option as a mid range boiler.
